"MEZ (@mezafram) is a multidisciplinary artist [and tattooist] born in Baghdad, raised in Melbourne and based in LA. You may know her as the artist who gave Steve Lacy, Lil Uzi and Kanye West matching tattoos back in 2022. This week, MEZ has joined forces with cult Australian label PAM to unveil a new capsule collection." — Acclaim Magazine
Fans of her work for a long time, PAM reached out last year hoping Mez could develop some designs to be included in their upcoming SS24 collection, “GATEWAY”. The cohesion between collaborators carried such strong visual energy that the resulting pieces took on a life of their own.
Skeletal wings, tribal logos and gothic expressions of “Psy Demon” and “Psy Active Mutation” are applied through a combination of print, embroidery and flocked mesh techniques. The range includes a reversible bomber jacket (one of PAM’s specialties) in cropped form, mesh top and maxi dress, plus hooded sweat and bleach washed tee. Mez’s shapes also appear etched into Italian-made stacked leather heels by PAM X Simona Vanth.

To help spread the brand of dark joy the collaboration embodied, artist and photographer Byron Spencer was asked to produce a short film and series of images...
Walking alone through the tunnels of a dark and empty city, a shadowy figure scrolls obsessively through photos of Mez on their phone. As the original score widens and an eerily-slow guided meditation narrates, the incessant scroller is revealed.
